Who We Are
One of a number of geographically defined areas within the Diocese of Massachusetts, the Cape & Islands Deanery comprises congregations from Plymouth, Buzzard's Bay and Wareham, Cape Cod, and from Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Islands. We are part of the Episcopal Church.
Our Deanery has an Executive Council and an Assembly with delegates from each congregation. We meet at least quarterly, rotating our assemblies among our local congregations.
Deanery Congregational Development Grant Last spring, we were awarded a Congregational Development Grant by the Diocese to help promote collaboration and communication among the parishes in our Deanery. |
Call for Deanery Bloggers To facilitate communication in multiple ways, we offer a blog for announcements and longer items of interest. If you are interested in helping with this portion of our online community, please contact any member of the Deanery Executive committee. We could really use some folks who would like to write articles and entries! |
Deanery Event Calendar We offer an online calendar for use by our parishes and deanery delegates. You may enter an event's details on our web site, and - after approval from one of our site maintainers (to prevent spam entries) - it will be available on our public calendar for all visitors to see. |
Training and Classes Part of our goal for this online community is offering opportunities for discussions among folks in our parishes. Another goal is to provide training and support to our parishes in the use of websites and software. Between the 16 parishes and three summer chapels in our deanery, we have a lot of experience and expertise. Training can be online in our meeting room or in-person hosted by one of our parishes. |
